September 4, 2019:  Disaster Relief/Beavercreek Update  
Guest Speakers: Pete Landrum - Beavercreek City Manager and  Mike Thonnerieux - Director of Public Administrative Services Department as well as representatives from the Township

Join us to learn how the City of Beavercreek and the Beavercreek Township coordinated efforts to the community for the tornado response. The City and Township worked closely together to help one another as one to assist Beavercreek's recovery. The City of Beavercreek Public Service Division worked with 34 different government agencies that sent staff, trucks and equipment to address the tree and brush debris in the neighborhoods impacted by the Memorial Day tornado.  Representatives from the City and Township will share where we are today and what we need to do to continue to move forward.

December 4, 2019: Our speaker is Sandra Brasington, liaison for Governor DeWine Western Ohio Region

Sandra Brasington is the Western Ohio Regional Liaison for Governor Mike DeWine, appointed when he took office in 2019 covering 13 counties in the Miami Valley including both Dayton and Lima. In this role, she is the link between the administration and military, local business leaders, elected officials, non-profits and community groups to meet the economic, business and local opportunities throughout the region. She is an effective leader who thrives on bringing individuals together to solve challenges. Sandra previously worked for Ohio Governor, John Kasich and Auditor, Betty Montgomery.

February 5, 2020: Women In Dayton History
Joyce Kasprzak Executive Director at Children’s Historical Publishing will speak about the role of empowering women in the history of Dayton.  Ms. Kasprzak is the Executive Director of Children’s Historical Publishing which creates educational programs and products to enrich the lives of children, especially minority and at-risk youth.  Her business has been in operation since 2001 and published a total of 31 books on local history for children.  Children's Historical Publishing has donated over 500,000 copies to the school children in our local area!

March 4, 2020:  "Life Lessons My Dying Patients Have Taught Me"
Guest Speaker:  Kim Vesey  Author and Chief Mission Officer at Ohio's Hospice
Ms. Vesey shares that the dying have an unique and insightful perspective on life.  Come hear the valuable lessons a nurse with 35 years of hospice experience has learned from her patients.  These lessons have not only changed who she is and how she's lived her life, they also helped her to say good bye to her beloved family members in beautiful ways.

April 1, 2020:  Gardening theme for Spring - speaker Babs Sabick - new president of the Red Bud Garden Club here in Beavercreek

Join long time Knollwood Garden Center employee, Babs Sabick, to learn new gardening for the 2020 growing season.  Babs will share new plant selections and answer your spring gardening questions. Babs is the new president of the Red Bud Garden Club here in Beavercreek. Redbud is a member of the Ohio Association of Garden Clubs.
